Hmmmm maybe that IS a fairytale!! LOL
That said I can honestly say I'm not giving up on finding a soul mate that is comitted to working out the monotony and the struggles that a real relationship brings. The KEY is working on your baggage, learning how to ask for what you need and learning how to identify a life partner who values....communication, integrity, honesty and respect. Then you have a chance. I have faith because there really are folks out there that have been married 20, 30, 50 years they weather the tough stuff. Some are happily married others are just married but value the union. That's reality.
I also wonder that because we all carry baggage and the odds that remarrying and lasting is even lower. Maybe I should headge my bet and start marriage counceling in the beginning of the marriage when we are not hurt but motivated to make it righ. That's my thoughts for what it is worth.
I am currently engaged to a wonderful man. I know he loves me dearly as I love him. We have 5 kids between the two of us ages 4-10. We both have financial issues from our past marriages and other obstacles we need to overcome.
When it comes time to combine our families I know it will take alot of hard work to keep our relationship going. Will it be a fairytale ending? Maybe. But, I know we both need to have the same commitment to make it work.
Yes, I believe in fairy tale endings, in santa claus, in life, love, and laughter. It's there for us--Just reach out and take the chance.
To me, the fairytale ending consists of Cinderella, or Ariel, or Belle... (sorry, I have daughters :)) all working side-by-side with their prince, trying to make every day as good as the last. It means at the end of each day, they are still happy they found eachother, despite any fights, or set-backs. It means that looking back, they would do it again in a heartbeat.
Do I believe in that... definitely. :)
cheers!
