and money was kind of the last straw with my ex fiance too....he decided to loan out all the money we had in our account, leaving us with nothing for possibly an entire week...and the money he loaned out was for frivilous stuff at that...so, I was pissed, and he got pissed at me for being pissed...started calling me all kinds of names, and I decided it was time to just end things even though that wasn't really what I wanted...but, I tried to be responsible and while he appreciated that most of the time, other times it just pissed him off, and I didn't feel like he was happy in the relationship anymore...so, it ended....money issues can really exacerbate an already rocky situation...
And onions.....stink.......the more you peel, the more they smell.
My children's father thinks success, ie: money, is God - I would have gladly lived simply and been happy to have my husband around - instead, I had lots of "stuff" and "security" - but no emotional wealth or security, which was more valuable to me. He was always gone, and when he wasn't, he was thinking about work, his careers (yes, plural) and the future. We would always have time together "tomorrow".
Well, 24 years later and he is still planning for the future. He has lots and lots of money; but no personal life. He's missed more of the kid's birthdays than he made, he missed Silas' graduation; he's missed so much. But he feels successful.
That lifestyle didn't work for me.
My ex had champagne taste and tap water money.
He is broke and in debt over his eyelashes. Had I'd stayed, I would be out on the streets a month after anything would happen to him ( he had a very high risk job....went to the er with him several times). He left I and our kids with no security ever....it was always about buying more toys while we couldn't even afford to pay for basics. I was afraid of having nothing in our old age and how the abuse may get worse than it already was.
I left and am 1000 times better financially, health and emotional wise. He is in the shitter so to speak and I give him a year before he loses his house and living with relatives. Sad, very sad!
Money issues tends to be a big reason for divorce according to my lawyer.
Figure out the underlying issue and you can figure out whether or not it's workable.
Sometimes, it just isn't.
If there is anything other than just financial then thats debatable, but just financial? no
That is 100% correct.
