Divorce?

My husband and I have been married for 4 months.. and he’s saying that he’s done. And not giving me a reason or anything. And he’s talking down to me to hurt me and calling me pathetic and a coward and I don’t understand it. I truly don’t know what could have gone wrong and it’s making me doubt myself, I truly do not know if I will make it and be okay..

How long have you been dating? Is this new behavior (name calling, etc)?

But regardless of that, if 4 months in, your marriage has come to this, I would cut my losses, seperate/divorce and move on. You somehow managed before him, I'm sure you can manage after him.

Well said by Yard_Eggs. If this is how he reacts to who-knows-what the reason is, 4 months into a marriage, he is not showing a willingness to be true partners in a marriage, to work through "better or worse", and shows that he is a quitter, a bully with the name calling, and he won't even tell you why he wants out?? Did he meet someone else, because that might be something he doesn't want to tell you. No matter what his "reason" is, you do not want this type of man for the long haul. Less than 6 months married, so maybe you can get an annulment. Good luck to you and sorry you are going through this.

Well if he doesn't want to do marriage counselling then it is obvious he has someone else on the side. Just do your best on your end to be kind and accommodating, perhaps he will see that and if not you will have no regrets down the line. Sorry this has happened

I'm so sorry to hear you have married someone like this. Its very familiar to me. Just believe its him not you. Of course you are doubting yourself, that's what he's aiming for. There is a certain personality disorder that my husband had and this rings bells for me. If he won't go to counselling with you then its important to go on your own. I'm sorry Swimfast but kind and accommodating is not a healthy response to abuse.

RUN RUN RUN. You have no ties and no kids with him. You are seeing the real man you married and this will not change. If he is doing this bizarre crap in just 4 months, imagine how devestating it will be if you give him another change- have kids, and he abandons you again.

I agree with the others. He is not interested in making this marriage work so, it's, best to get out now. It's a shame this happened to you and I sympathize with you.

I'm so sorry. 4 months in should still be such a happy time in a marriage, but rough spots can happen at any time, and it's not your fault. But if he's calling you names and hurting you, this may not be a healthy situation. Do you have people around you who can support and help you?

    I'm horrified!  I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000.  I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter.  I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change.  Now this!  I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000.  I guess I have to pay...
