I am coping with the breakup of me and my ex. We have a 12 year old daughter together and haven't seen her since then. My ex got into another relationship and is using that man to raise my daughter in my absence. I haven't been in an relationship since then and want to get back into dating again. I need advice and support.

Hugs, There is not much I can say. Whatever she is doing will back fire. Get a lawyer and see what is available to you. But do not use the child as a leverage. It will back fire. If she thinks that she is going to get away with it, she better think again. My daughter was not talking to me for almost two years, and now she has been living with me since 2010. Right now she is sleeping. All you can do at this time is keep the lines of communication open. When she is with you do not talk bad about her mother. She is a child. If she wants to talk listen, I mean really listen. Do not judge or make her feel worthless. Most of all be kind to yourself, you deserve it.

Thank you for your response Atpeacemary. It isn't easy at all. I have tried to get a lawyer several times and none of them was interested in taking my case. All I can do right now is take care of myself. I also decided to not dwell too much on my ex. What she has done will definitely backfire and I agree with you on that. I believe that my daughter will find me someday. Right now, I am going to take care of myself.

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...
