Well, I decided to peek into a dating site again yesterday. Its been 3 years now. I wrote my post, put in my pictures. I started getting views. I felt better this time, but only for s few minutes, he popped up. Good gracious, my ex was in this one two. Everywhere I reach out or go in the single world, he Is there. Makes it hard. I closed my profile off for a month, they have this option now. He has, it seems, been real busy replacing me, first another brief marriage and no telling how many dates. I'm just now, trying to move on. I moved to the next town away. I guess, I'm still not far enough away. Anybody else dealing with this?

I tried dating website but so far I'm not ready. This is how I met my husband and it seems so hard to recreate what we had. It's just so hard...

I am on two dating sites. I guess I am not ready. They are not like 10 years ago. I did meet my ex on one. I seen him and it tears me inside. I am trying another but no luck, still look for him. It is ashame he has everything I like but it was his way or no way relationship. sad I guess it will take time. Need more chat rooms about divorce still. Good luck.

I am feeling lonely tonight. I don't want to spend the rest of my life alone. I guess this is why I am thinking of dating again. We were so good together before all the bad happened. But, I never felt like he wanted to have a home. He dated a lot before we got together and so did I. He was an expert boyfriend but never wanted to build anything with me after marriage. I owned the house. I inherited it. He never would help me improve it. I had to buy the furniture. This hurt me. I remember after we first married. I climbed in bed after my bath, and he fussed at me for being nude. He said that he wanted to take my clothes off. This confused me and I never iniated sex in fear of angering him. I loved him with all my heart, but never felt at complete ease. I'm sorry, I guess I'm sharing too much, but feel I need to tell someone. I have held this inside for s long time. I cry as I write this.

I understand that sense of never feeling at complete ease...I dated and was eventually engaged after a 12+ year relationship...I stepped out of the relationship for that exact reason of never feeling fully at ease- parts of the "so good together" get overshadowed after those critical times when you showed your vulnerability and it was answered by selfish and detached response. This kills trust. It's hard to accept this. I think suffering within the relationship is worse than being alone...(not ALOT worse, but worse none the less. Hopefully in the best case scenario, the good stuff can be recreated and the number one gut check is to feel trust and ease with your life partner.

I agree-my exwife and I met online and to go back online (since I work crazy hours) to meet someone seemed daunting. Over the years of doing this I've learned the various types of people I should avoid and some ways to spot many of them. I didn't weed the bad totally out but did most. If you do it safely, take things very slow and use a lot of common sense it can be a great source for meeting. If nothing else the dates with those that don't pan out help you work on your own dating skills-so look at that benefit... My ex and some of her friends I'm sure checked up on my online dating activity but that just goes to show deep down they have a grain of clarity that she screwed up...kind of a jealousy thing. Don't pay any attention to it. Take care of you and live your life to the fullest. You deserve it!

This is one of my biggest fears about re connecting with people on social media... I don't want to see him with someone else or even seeing him try to look... it's gut wrenching

I had that experience a while back. about 3 years after my divorce, one of the dating sites was running a 30 free special or something, so I started filling out the account creation form. On page 2 was some more questions, with a bunch of profile pictures in the background. my ex's pic was in it. I closed out and didn't sign up.

A year or two later I tried Tinder, somewhat on a lark. I met several very nice people. The most recent one I have been in a relationship for almost 3 years. I suppose if my ex's pic had came up there, you could always swipe left and banish them forever. Not quite satisfying enough, but good none the less. (I deleted my account some time ago, and never ran across her)

I had read that Tinder was for hookups and one night stands. However, everyone I went out with was either a single dinner date or turned into a months long relationship. Never had any first night propositions. Apparently I suck at Tinder ;-)

Oh, I didn't know that about Tinder. I tried Zoosk. There he was again. I can't do it, just seeing him. Even though it's been 3 years, I still love him. It hurts.
