Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
1) Don't go into it looking for sex. It clouds the bigger picture.
2) Correspond for a significant period of time before meeting anyone.
3) Communicate your core beliefs early to avoid getting surprised with a "deal breaker" later on.
4) Honesty - need I say more?
5) Recent photos
6) I'm told that grammar and punctuation disqualify most men from ever getting responses.
7) Humour - this isn't a resume for a job; besides humour denotes intelligence.
8) Don't obsess over physical features. We all age, get fat, and lose our hair.
9) Stay in your age range - too many men are looking for someone 20 years younger. This is stupid for all parties involved.
10) Be selective and put your best effort forward. Avoid "cut & paste" form letters since they always sound insincere.
That's all that I can think of for now. Good hunting!
maybe you should stop looking at church. Or at that church anyway.
So I don't get responses because I know how to construct messages properly? Oh man, what do I have to do? slur?
Iz dis how dey wan 2 b tlkd 2?
Insert "lack of" in the appropriate place.
1) Use more than one site, increase exposure. I liked Lavalife and POF was ok. Some sites are more used in your city than others. Check the potential dates in your age range before signing up. This will decrease the annoying factor in your search.
2) Before opening the email you got, check the picture and profile of the prospect candidate, and delete without reading if you are not interested. That will avoid annoyance and useless bein nice ping pong. It is a dating site, people do not go there to make friends. You can join clubs for that.
3) Don't make your life about dating. No matter how many times you click in the dating site, it does not make people look pretier. Do other things, and check the dating site once a day or less. New people join all the time. There is no shortage or rush.
4) To the few potential dates- email a few times, maybe a week or more. When you are comfortable, exchange phone numbers. A week at least on the phone if every day to make it for coffee. That way, you have the first signs of a potential good date - this person is not in a rush/replacement mode, this person adds up (stories are consistent and the person keeps the word about calling or being there to take the call), and they are still interested and interesting and therefore worth my precious company- lol.
5) I hear guys approach more girls on sites than the other way around. So, I am a girl, therefore online dating consists of keeping the line out there and waiting for emails...lol.
6) Don't expect that a date will do all you want to do. Get your own life going so you can have a healthy relationship. Your friends and stuff, and your partner with interests and all, and good quality time together.
7) Coffee in a public place. Coffee or tea is a must, a meal may be too long depending what you meet. Very little interaction time with plenty exits will save you some annoyance.
8) Have fun, enjoy yourself. If anyone likes you, let they like you for who you really are. If they can't handle it is ok, blame compatibility issues, DO NOT blame yourself for a bad date.
9) Do not make friends out of dates. Some people hang on to you expecting a chance. This is not good. You should not need tht type of attention. Be polite, but cut people loose once you are not interested or vice versa. Avoid unnecessary dragging.
10) Value your time. Even doing all perfect, most dates will no go anywhere. So put the time of the day you are willing to waste on that.

1) Most of the women like the attention that they are getting, and have become serial daters more than looking for anything long term. I have had a few tell me (friends, not dates) that they would never be without someone to go out with...and it has become more of a hobby.
2) Being an active person has its downfalls. I workout 6 days a week, so when you let someone know that you are into taking care of yourself, they feel like that you are too much for them.
3) I have little to no drama in my life, and its funnt as this seems to be a turn off in some way. Hell, I thought someone would appreciate someone normal? :-)
4) It's not easy being a good guy! There are so many men out there telling women what they want to hear that when you are sincere about what it is that you are looking for...it comes across as another line that they have heard before.
You can't give up, though it does get frustrating...but you have to consider what it is that you are up against.
