I have three words for you: mail order bride

During my darkest dating disasters following my divorce, I even considered it.

good first step ... dont get discouraged ... you are doing good just getting out there ...

take it easy and enjoy meeting some new people and having fun.

I don't want to settle for anything. I want to find the right person....even if it takes a while. The problem is meeting them because I have a rough time meeting people.

I am not in a hurry to get in a relationship, I want something meaningful and not just someone to fill the void. I want it all!

I am not the most patient person either and I get fustrated easily. This is fustrating because I have fumbled my way through 3 dates already. What a pain.

Yeah this one lady that used to cut my hair down at supercuts was a Russian bride. I only knew because I was just back from Germany so I asked about her accent. She wasn't bad looking I guess, but she could have had her entire extended family back at her apartment you never know. I ran into a guy with an Indian one before too, and she was soooo fucking gorgeous. Same thing though you know once one gets a green card her whole family is crashing at your place when their visas expire.

OMG OMG OMG! I know this one! I've met a number of mail order brides! It doesn't seem to last long. mmm. that get shorty guy wrote a cool story about that one. and that 'happy birthday' movie. yeah watch that before you place your order.

the absolute cruelest part of a breakup is the consolation prize of dating. oh, joy! dating!

I mean WHO wants to date past ... what? I was married when I would have been able to recognize this number? I mean how many dating years does anyone want under their belt? oh, that came out wrong.

everyone says that I should work harder to find local kindreds, but that the man of my dreams will be in a ups package (or maybe the driver?) when I'm ready. total if you build it they will come.

I have a hard time meeting people too (imagine that lol) in "real life". It makes it hard sometimes. I mean..I meet a lot of "young people" at work that are about 10 years younger than I, but I have a hard time meeting my age or older.

I can't even imagine dating..too weird even thinking about it. I do agree with Maggie. You just started. Things will get rollin.

3) you go for a meal and wish you had gone only for coffee because the meal is too long
4) you get shit in unpredictable times and ways
5) makes singlehood look like heaven

ok, here is the thing. Dating is dating, meaning, an ok company to do something and then try some more of it if both like. Enjoy for what it is, don't expect a bride out of a coffee..com on, you want to know someone before you get stuck with their habits, behaviour, and crap and all. So, take a step back, enjoy the company for what it is, and if it goes somewhere, learn to make that the exception....the special cases...lol
A good way to go out with singles is to meet the singles club in your town. They often go dancing and do things that will expose you to more people and possibilities, besides making new friends.

Well...those are good suggestions but there are no singles places in Culpeper. The other thing is that I don't go to bars in the Town where I work. It is because I have probably have arrested most of the people in them at some point in time. The other part to that is that I don't want other people to see me drinking because it is bad (don't crap where you eat type of thing).

Single life just stinks. Sorry, dating sucks too. I am shy in person most of the time also.

i agree with you about dating. i'm trying to move on with my life and hoping meeting someone will make it easy on me in moving on with my life. i don't know how to act or communicate with the other sex. i guess it will come when it does , i hope very soon for me

You should be my age trying to reenter the dating scene, Heavetoo. You are young and will have many opportunities to find another as you continue to heal. I had not dated in the 18 months that I have been alone. One was too old, and one was an octopus.. Just give yourself time and it will happen for you. You can go out to where young people are and in time you will find that one for you,. Make friends., I would be delighted with making friends and then it developing further, and that may be what happens. Good luck to you, heave as you go into your new life. Kimmee
