I recently broke up with a man after 10 months. This was hard to do. I’ve been divorced 5 years and I went thru a very expensive 3.5 year divorce with a very narccisstic man. I seem to have issues of guilt for my reasons of not seeing this man anymore. I felt like I was not a priority in his life. I miss our talks and he made me laugh which was a godsend after the years of emotional abuse. But I promised myself I would not settle. I want to be a priority to a significant other not an after thought. Why do I feel bad about this? Im really struggling. I dated a few times since my divorce but I always quit seeing the person for different reasons. Now I’m concerned that I’m too picky..

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...
on yourself .I do not think that you recovered fully from the Narcissistic abuse.
This is important because you will take residue from your reactive/response
behavior from narcissistic abuse into your future relationships. If you have not already make sure your i's and t's are dotted and crossed and that you have
done the self partnering, self nurturing work needed to do from within you
should experience a notable change in your behavior, self value and a new perspective on the kind of men that you want to occupy your time.I am so
happy for you that you have moved on and away from your narcissistic abuser. But without cleansing yourself fully you will fall into little traps and
confuse what may be a non harmful flaw in a new love interest with a habit
possessed by your narcissistic ex.Without proper self partnering and help with surviving in the world after narcissistic abuse you will view men
if they are preoccupied with their own stuff as you being an AfterThought.
This is why you feel you are struggling .
Okay I got it.Maybe it is simply the wrong choice of men? If you are feeling guilty then I am almost certain that your problem stems from the residue from the narcissistic abuse. After going through that you should be picky to a degree so you protect yourself. Be patient and that special some one
will come along. Not sure do you think 10 months dating now remember
dating is suppose to feel relaxed and such and did you explain your thoughts to him and he just brushed it off- well okay at least he is upfront if so and now
you just have to be patient. Please do remember you can have an aura about
you (an energy that makes a man act opposite to what you desire. Some times if you just fall back and do not act anxious this stirs something up in him.. Just saying.
But you should not feel guilt- I mean unless you did the breakup in a foul manner. Hugs to you and remember patience is Key. Thanks for sharing too!
