Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
People do it all the time. At some point or another I have done it myself. I'm not prefect and other know that. I like my dark side sometimes. People can judge me all they want since it does not bother me unless it someone I care about.
It's a work in progress to be a better person than I am but I also love my imperfection.
If you're concerned about yesterday, you are human and hurting. I still remember hitting my son so hard in the face when he was eleven that it knocked him partway across the room. It had never happened before or since, all I could do was apologize, tell him I loved him, and go on. He's an adult now with no permanent scars. He remembers it, too, and likes to tease me "mom, you always let me by with too much. I think that I went into shock." I will regret it always, but he's ok.
And I hope you're feeling better than you did the other day. Parenting is the toughest job around. Sure it's easy if your kids never had issues, but if/when they do, it's quite another story. I really don't think that people will get it unless they've gone through it!
But, with that being said, I don't believe that you can truly heal, unless you are 100% honest with yourself. This means that on a support group, in order to get the full support that you need, you must open up and make yourself vulnerable.
Sometimes it just takes a while to open up. Sometimes you just have to talk about tacos as the filler, until you are ready...
Know what I'm saying?
You're a great person and Father. But you should already know that.
I try real hard to be understanding and give helpful opinions. If I ever come across as all-knowing Ms. Judge of All Righteousness..just call me on it.
