Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
What I found out though, is that the kids (now 9 and 11) knew things were wrong before I did. We actually had my older son in counseling for acting out, but it was from my STBX and my stress. It has been only 4 months since I decided on divorce, and the kids are already doing so much better. I think I was in as much denial about their knowledge and emotions as I was my own. I know I have made the best decision for myself and more importantly, for my kids.
But I do want to add, every situation is different. It does depend some on the kids themselves.
Kids are more perceptive than we realize sometimes though. It's also important to consider what you want them to learn about life and relationships. Remember they end up modeling your marriage in their life as adults.
Good luck. It was the hardest decision of my life. Until I made it.
