I know it's just a phase I'm going through, but I'm so angry with God right now! Grrrrrr!
As most of you know, my husband/soul mate of almost 10 years left me about a year ago. We had the perfect relationship. We almost never fought. He adored me and I adored him. What went wrong? I have absolutely no idea because he refuses to talk to me about it.
Rewind a few years.....I literally prayed to God every single day that my marriage would remain healthy and that I would get to spend the rest of my life with my soul mate. There's no way that God didn't hear my prayer. He may have gotten tired of hearing it, but he heard it!
So why, after praying so hard for so many years, would God allow this to happen?

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...

But what I can say is this: If you believe in God then you must also believe that there is a lesson to be learned in all of this and he may be setting you up for something bigger and better or teaching you something you will use later in life.
I always say to myself: God if this is a lesson so later I can guide my daughter down a dark path in her life then I accept it fullly and will learn the lesson you are trying to teach me. I would go through hell and back for my daughter and maybe this will teach me something I will need to know later to be able to be strong and wiser for her.
Just a thought.
Many blessings and hope for you my friend.

There must have been some underlying issues that you were not aware of and, maybe your husband isn' t the type to reveal his true feelings and thoughts easily or openly.
It may take years for you to come to grips as to why the marriage failed and you may never truly know.
This is indeed sad. I have been there too. My ex and I were married for 10 yrs. but, we had a troubled marriage from the start. She died this past Feb. and I still remember the good times. She was my high school sweetheart. I loved her but, unfortunately, she did not love me with the same heart felt love. I was more of a security blanket and a convenience.
First off, let me assure you that this is not God's work.. maybe his plan for you instead. There is a bible verse which says "Lean not on our own understanding." Sometimes things happen and we've prayed upon it many times, yet God hasnt answered the prayer(s) on our time table. It certainly doesnt mean he isnt listening or that he isnt making a way for us. He is. Trust in that, please. Stay faithful and he will empower, strengthen and encourage you throughout all trying times. I promise their is light ahead, just worship and believe in his promises. Good luck xx
Let go, don't blame yourself, become the best person you can become, and allow yourself to love again ... starting with yourself. I have found that time does NOT heal all wounds, love does.
I am very sorry you going thru this.
I think you cannot let go because your husband is refusing you the true. I know how that feel. I prefer someone tells me the hurting ugly truth instead of not knowing. Unfortunately , that's not how the world works most of the time.
Your marriage was not perfect sweetie. I have a friend who had a story similar then yours but my friend is "your perfect husband" who left his wife because the truth was that he was gay but would never face his family with that reality as his mom, his upbringing, his religious belief would NEVER allow him to be himself.
He told me the true , but for his wife who doesn't know it he is the perfect husband who left the perfect relationship for no reason.
Not because you never fight means everything was perfect.
I know it's hard to accept .
Hope you find answers.
The other day as I was depressed someone told me something very powerful , we conditioned ourselves to think everything should be forever when it's not. We need to enjoy good times when they are here and let go when it's time to write a new chapter of the book of our lives.

My husband was not Christian. I also prayed everyday that God would fill his heart with love and that he would become a Christian. That didn't happen either, but now I'm seeing that maybe God couldn't get through to him so it was just better for my husband and I to split. That doesn't mean I have to be happy about it, but I am seeing a possible truth to this.
JennsJo: Thank you. The bible verse is a great reminder! I also needed to hear that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
bigguy3: You are absolutely right. I feel like a little kid who threw a temper tantrum because I didn't get what I want. The answer to my prayer was obviously "no" so I need to accept that and believe that better things are to come.
Sunshine0916: It really is hard to remember that God's plan is for our own good when we want so badly for it to be our plan that we live. I may never know the reason my husband left, but all I can do is accept it and try to move forward in my life. I'm definitely ready for that "OHHHHHH!!! I get it now" moment that you mentioned. I would feel so much better if I just knew a little bit about what God's plan for me is.
brokenheartgal: I'm positive you are right that my marriage wasn't perfect. It just seemed that way. I know that he had to have been planning to leave for some time. He just didn't communicate with me on why and that's the hardest part. I can't seem to find any closure, but I just need to accept that I will probably never know what happened and move on. Thank you for your advice, sweetie!
Drives me nuts.
I'm glad you aren't following that path.
