Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
I also get the 'what are you doing?' while I'm on the computer. Yours are belching? I have to deal with ungodly farting so I'll gladly trade you on that one....
They give all kinds of unasked for advice that goes way over the line and by now I'm convinced my parents are certifiably insane!
Moving at the end of this month, thank god, I live way too close to them right now. It is truly unbearable.
Snap the fuck out of it.
My fiance just told my daughter the other day that he can never see or talk to his mother again so she should treasure any time she has with me. I know it's hard to think about it when they are driving you crazy but who else is going to love us unconditionally (for the most part) besides our parents!?
If she peeked over my shoulder I'd minimize what I had open and ask her "Can I help you with something?"
She was VERY nosey.
You might have to let them know, "Dad, I'm an adult and I need to be allowed some privacy."
When you suddenly are back in the fold, here's what I've seen: Your parents don't know any better than you on how to handle an adult suddenly living with them. So, they revert to the way things were BEFORE you moved out. When all these things didn't bother you, you probably didn't notice them at all. I do spend a few days here and there with my parents at the lake house, and my Dad follows me everywhere. Heck, I work for him, so he does that here too.
But honestly - I thank GOD everyday that I have them, and love them with all my heart. I'd say give them some slack, they are suddenly readjusting to a grown person in their space. They love ya, happy to see ya, but in their heads, and yours, is "????".
My father and I are very close but he has changed in the last six months. I am wondering how much the development of sugar diabetes is effecting him some too.
I can't wait until I can get a new job so I can go back to my normal life!
