Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
Divorce is uncertain enough by itself. But to add cancer on top of that...
It's freedom wrapped in sorrow.
Freedom from the hell of dealing with a divorce, and sorrow that you have become painfully aware of how much time you have to use that freedom.
Most people don't think about how much time they have left. They take it for granted that they wake up in the morning, go about their day, then go to bed at night.
Cancer is not necessarily the end though. I have known many people with various stages of it that have gone through treatment and have not had any recurrance.
I know of one friend who has it, but he's refusing treatment because at the stage it is and where it's located, the invasiveness of treatment would basically leave him a eunich.
My father survived protate cancer. I remember how scared I was when he first told us about it. I mean, your parents are there from day one. The idea of not having a parent there any longer has a way of giving your core being a few knocks.
But to him, it was a wakeup call. Not just about telling other men to get screened, but it also drove him to make the most of each day after his diagnosis.
I'm not saying cancer is how you're going to go out. I always figured there would be a trapeeze involved for you :P
In the Old Testament, there are several times when the Isrealites would see God work directly in their lives. Then where ever they happened to be when that happened, they would pile up a bunch of rocks as a reminder. So anytime someone asked, "Hey, what are those rocks for?" someone could tell them the story behind them.
We all need reminders in some way, shape or form that this life is all we have. And we need to make the most of it before it's over.
Don't let this cancer win by eating away your heart and spirit, too. I know you've got plenty of fight in you. I know you can beat this.
(((Nova)))
Big hugs and lots of support for what you're dealing with.
