With regards to "being the bad guy", well that's subjective. I think her strategy is to force your hand so that you appear to be the bad guy or else just deal with the status quo that is serving all of her needs.
BTW, my husband left me, but he did not leave our kids. We share 50/50 custody at his insistence.
Rman - I know I've said that to you before. Do you want your girls thinking this is normal. I completely understand not wanting the one to "end it". Trust me I can so sympathize with that. And I'm not sure if I would have the courage to end it if I was in your shoes as well. I don't know if this is the right thing....you're taking a huge sacrifice to keep your family "together" and like I said I understand that. My thoughts are you need to have a real conversation with her to really try and work on things. I know you're not a therapy person....but have you asked if she's willing to try couples counseling? If she is...I think you owe it to you and your family to try it.
You have, as I recall, said a few time son here that you miss the way things used to be with her.
So maybe, while this is confusing and not the routine you've become used to over the last while, it is a step in the right direction towards giving this last chance everything she's got. In which case, telling her she is pretty and that you are proud of her, might have felt real sweet to her.
I wonder if tonight you would do the same for her?
With that said, if I woke up and found my husband in my bed I would ...ummm...dahhhh...mmmmm... I'd be speechless! I would simply assume he's decided to jump on the Viagra wagon. He never did have much of a sex drive....
