in fact I still do
the better question, to me, would be: would you positively commit to someone who is not positively committed to you?
Could I be married to someone I didn't trust? No.
But, my youngest is quite a cheater with any sort of game (dice, cards, board games) and if you take your eye off her for a second, she's got a yatzee, or has rolled doubles... or mysteriously has more cards...
Do I trust her in games? hell no, but I love her with all my heart.
I would also say that trust is a thing with levels, not boolean. It's not about whether I trust or not, but HOW MUCH I trust.
And that makes me sad!
Hope she was worth all this pain he's caused.
Can you love and not trust? Absolutely, but you are doing it in the dark.
I trusted my ex beyond any words. She was one of the first people I really trusted that much. But once things cames to the surface and I found out she lied, maniuplated and cheated, I had no trust in her and found that the feeling I thought was love, started to fade. The only feeling I was left with was indifference and I had no respect for her whatsoever. There were others as well that I put my trust in to before and after her that I had real feelings for. But once the trust was broken between them and I, for a whatever reason, the feelings started to dissapate and I found myself just distancing myself and the feelings I thought were there or developing, seemed to evaporate over time.
So yeh, for me, trust is big and I couldn't love or even really like someone if I didn't trust them.
