Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
It won't be easy because I can hear that you are concerned with her future, and that is admirable, but that will be up to her. You are not responsible for making someone take care of themselves. Now is all about you and your son. If you can, get into counseling to deal with any guilt you may feel at taking care of yourself. I had enormous guilt even though my ex was abusive as I was sole support and he had not worked. He wasted his time and our money on pot ,alcohol , and everything else in catalogs that came to our home also, so I really understand what you are saying. We have children also, but they are grown now and tell me that they wish I had the courage to walk out years ago. It did not help them have self esteem nor have respect for me , in the staying with him and letting him continue to abuse me.
It is not going to be easy, but you will get better in time. Living well is the best thing you can do for yourself and your son. Stay here with us and make friends that will walk this new path with you. Pull family and friends close and try to reassure your son that you will be there for him. If he suffers from the decision, take him to counseling also. We put together a manual for newcomers and I hope that you will find something in it to bring you some peace and comfort during this time. Healing hugs, Kimmee
