Background. Husband dumped me for a woman he met through an online dating site...at least 6 months before I even knew he was unhappy. Moved her here this last November and married her a week later. They have been married about 6 months. I cant get over him while I live in this small town so I have resigned and am moving away from here. He kept asking where was I going and I finally told him Houston (which is one possibility) just to stop him asking. I asked why he wanted to know and he said because he wanted to make sure I was ok. WTF? Right?
My plan is and has been to not let him know where I am going. Changing the number on my cell and making it unlisted. Same with landline. Already have him blocked on Facebook. For the 1st time in 26 years the string will finally be cut. He wont know where I am.
Yesterday I was at home with a headache: unfreaking believable. Got text from him asking if I was excited and if I was still going to Houston. Talked a little. When he found out I was at home he wanted to come over. Told him I was fixing to take a bath. wanted to come "wash my back."...
Doing my best to avoid him and not see him before i leave town in a month. Not going to tell him when I leave either.Just going to slip out of town. My friends will NOT give him any info if he asks and very few people will even have that info.
I'm 59 years old and starting my life all over again... He will not be a part of this one.

I had gone to the grocery store. When I wheeled my cartback to my car I just stool there a minute. A few spacesaway a Tesla Cyber truck was parked. I had seen it on theroad a few times for a few seconds. But not close up.It looked like it belonged to 2126 and not 2026. I wasgoing to take a picture of the car but the owners cameback and drove away. It was an ordinary middle age...

I agree with you and Missy. Alot of nerve to ask how you are doing. What does he think. He is probaly saying that to clear his on concious. I have had people do that to me. Dog me out and then try to make I am okay , only so they dont feel bad about themselves and what they have done.
Keep moveing forward and be blessed. (( hugs ))
And then turn around now and say he wants to make sure I am ok?
Yeah what IS it with these massages and backrubs? I met a guy online. Well, we had talked. had not really met yet because he'd been working long hours. One night around 10 after he got off he wanted to come give me a massage! Uh---NO. Then he asked if I was one of them lesbians. Um--ok sure, let's go with that.. dumb asses.
"all mommy wanted was a back rub.."
sometimes i fear there really is no such thing as an evolved man..
When I read that he still wants to sort of do things for you, then calls you too needy, I get the feeling that if you let him come over, he would turn around and tell people that you asked him to do all these things for you because you still depend on him - even though it was really all his idea. So, that was really, really good that you're avoiding him and keeping your location a secret. It also reminded me of my STBX - controlling, maybe? Can't stand the idea you are making your own decisions? Or it could be what one poster said, trying to clear his conscience. I'm sorry that you are forced to move to get some space. I hope this ends up being a great new adventure for you. Hugs.
Plus, we have both (usually) always been very good at knowing what the other is thinking/feeling. I imagine he can tell that I am pulling away. For the first time in 26 years I am not going to be there.
Your ex sounds like a real piece of work!!
I am so proud of you doing this for yourself. You so deserve a fresh start.
I so know what you mean about the weird comments that come out of men's mouths or minds. I have been dabbling a bit on a dating site, and it has blown my mind how soon these guys come out with these kinds of comments. What the heck is wrong with them?
I don't know whether they do it to test us to see whether we would be open to just about anything?? Anyway to me it is so disrespectful and such a turn off.
Good luck with all your packing and plans for the future. How exciting!!!
Yes, he is a piece of work I guess. One of the first things he asked me when he found out I was leaving was if I was going to take the dog back. The second thing was if he could have my "boom box". (long story).
Just praying it doesnt take me a really long time to find a job.
