22 years of marriage and 3 children did stop her
After 22 years of marriage and 3 children, my wife said it was over. I found out that she had been using social media to emotionally cheat on me. There was no indication that our marriage was in trouble. It appeared that we loved each other deeply. I gave my whole heart to her and loved her in every way. We rarely fought, hardly had a disagreement. We seemed happy to raise our children. That's why this hurt so much. The pain and confusion from our sepration hurt. Once she declared her seperation our marriage unraveled. She was abused for 18 years of her childhood. I didn't realize this deep pain she had when we first met. We married only 3 years after she moved out of her parents house. She never got healing from this abuse. Our initial 7 years of marriage was bliss. After 11 years we started to go through some changes but nothing to be concerned about. Now, after 22 years, after she declared her separation, our marriage went from emotional cheating to an affair with a total stanger she found online. How could this happen. That's when she told me she was into the fetish lifestyle and had posted pictures of herself online and was looking for a man to mentally, emotionally and physicall abuse her. I couldn't wrap my head around this. I was too much of a nice guy that she needed the pain of a savage, abusive relationship. She believes it stems from her childhood abuse. She has gone so deep into the fetish lifstyle and my 3 kids know about it. The pain of losing a wife and the kids losing their mother to this lifestyle is hard to get over. We are having a hard time healing from this. Every day we deal with the reality that everything is different. She realizes the pain she caused all of us but now it too late. The damage is done. Nothing is the same. The kids live with me and we try to move on with our life but the pain is unbearable. To make matters worse, my mother passed away 7 months after my wife left us and the kids. Then exactly 31 days after she passed, my father passed away. The kids and I are feeling the loss of 3 people within the span of 9 months. How do we move on? How can we heal?

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I cannot imagine how blindsided you must have been with all this. I just hope you do realize none of this was because of anything you did or didn't do.
Sadly she probably has all this guilt and bad feelings . When a person is abused they usually do beat up on themselves and can very easily be convinced this is all they deserve. I was never really physically abused, but verbally was another story.. To this day, a handful of friends can try to fill my head with encouraging, positive thoughts but I still hear the negative, hateful crap from so many years ago.
I don't know how old your children are, but at least you all do have each other. and with the love and support from friends (and any remaining family) may you all begin to heal.
They both can help you with the grieving and the Therapist
can offer you help and guidance.
I am sorry for all the rejection, hurt and pain for You and your
children's sake and also on the loss of Your parents. Thats is
a lot of grief to endure and major Losses at around the same
time.
There have been a few others that a spouse started with the
Online sex stuff. I don't know anything about fetishes or her
emotional And mental health issues from her years of abuse.
Thats A great subject to talk to a Professional about. HUGS
