My hearing is over sensitive too. Especially the computer, fluorescent lights and the hum of the fridge gets to me. Overstimulated.

This awareness goes beyond hearing and has affected my other senses which is almost spooky, but I am not afraid!
I've realized as a flashlight needs a battery, for fear to have a grip on me, I have to give away my power; and this makes me tired!

I notice I cant turn on the TV as loud anymore. Or stereo for that matter. I just don't like things as loud anymore. Sorry dosnt help, but that's my experience.

No I had terrible tinnitus that limited my hearing and dizziness. I did feel the earthquake stuff you describe when no one around me felt anything. And then when there was a real earthquake in California I couldn't tell the difference except my dog got real anxious and upset.
I get the weirdest, extraordinary thing now and then. It feels like my brain is really mushy and my vision is like everything smoothes out, and becomes sort of like a cartoon.
Sometimes I can think straight and like I can perceive more to my surroundings than just what meets my senses. Then other times I can barely managed to tie my darn shoes.

Hyper hearing, yes. It's been years and years since the earth shifted beneath my feet. I thought that was a psychotic break. What do I know?

It is called hypersensitvity to sounds & Post Traumatic Stress Disorder/PTSD causes hypersensitivity to sounds, too. Which most of us may have due to the Traumatic event that caused your Brain Injury.

Yes...my hearing has become extremely acute. I can detect even the tiniest noise and can no longer tolerate loud or repetitive noises.

What We All Have Done Here Is Broken All The Different Filters In Are Head , How Ever We Acquired Our TBI / ABI's. Kinda Like Our Brains Had A Major Short Circuit , Everything Just Doesn't Work Together Anymore , This Can't Filter Out That.

We All Can Relate To The Extremely Acute Noises , We Pick Up On Just the Slightest Humming Sound.

Two Other Major Issues Are Scanning With My Eyes and Any Movement At The Sides Of Me.

The List Goes On For All Of Us.

Yes. The movement at the side can be nauseating...and I cannot deal with someone walking with me a bit offsides now. (more like at the side and step of two behind) Throws me completely off.

I have read about other tbi people that have a head injury and then suddenly they can paint, or speak different languages. I've never heard of anything like what you are talking about. But some how, I feel ripped off. I suffered a tbi and got nothing but loss. I lost hearing and some sight in my left ear and eye. Sorry.
