Bisexuality Support Group
Bisexuality is a sexual orientation which refers to the aesthetic, romantic, and/or sexual attraction of individuals to other individuals of both their own and the opposite gender or sex. Most bisexuals are not equally attracted to men and women, and may even shift between states of finding either sex exclusively attractive over the course of time.

Which, frankly, is one of the keys I suspect. When you are secure in the relationship you have with someone, you don't harbor fears about other people being "competition" - you can accept that they love you for you, and love others for them, and there's no comparison or competition. For some relationships, that takes some time to develop.
Oh and JC I wish my man was bi--lol. I was like are you sure?? Cause him and another male would be hot...
Altho I have no interest in another man personally. I'm happy with him and only missing my woman ;)
I can't really agree with that statement. I suspect a lot of men THINK it's true (or would like it to be, thanks to the "classic every man's fantasy of having two women at once" thing), but for actual *polyamory* to work, you have to be incredibly good at communication and at carrying your own baggage. I've seen a lot of men call themselves "poly" once they stumbled across a label that would let them sleep around, and then act *anything* but ethical. And polyamory is about *ethical* honest multiple relationships. The time processing, talking through problems, addressing the emotions involved etc. comes a lot more naturally to women (if you look at things on a broad, generalist spectrum anyway).
That said, among the folks I know who are polyamorous (and again, I'm hooked into most of the national lists and know a lot of the leaders around the globe), it's really a lot more 50/50 than you'd expect. :)
On a side note, I've never fantasized about having two women at once. Two guys could be fun, though :)
I *suspect* there are a lot more posts "seeking support for the bad stuff" than extolling the virtues or the positives on this site (but I'm still new, we'll see) - so it's not exactly a "representative" sample. :D
And hey, I think two guys is hot too. We agree! Yay! *grins* Of course, my mate is so straight he pings everybody's "gaydar" (no seriously, it happens all the time, but it's just 'cause he has no hang ups around gay folks and is totally secure in his own skin).
