wondering if the mania is almost over

Ive been sleeping again (with help of meds) my doctor is increasing my lamictal doasage and im feeling much less anxious. but im so crazy impulsive ive gotten 2 tattoos within a week. i just hope it goes away before i end up like last time.. ( out of control and very dangerous to myself)

I wish I could tell you when it will go away. I had trouble with mania on Lamictal. It was treated with Seroquel which is very sedating. After that I chose to go on Lithium and had longer periods of stability. I mentioned it to current pdoc and he said Lamictal hasn't proven to be effective against mania. He may have a bias for Lithium.

Have you called and said what's going on? Even if your doc said to give it x amount of time to work it's ok to be proactive.

Big hug for you beccs.... It's great that you're working closer with your doctor now and sleeping is a big thing in the bipolar realm...It's wonderful you're back to it...
I would continue seeing your doctor regularly through this time... I think the fact that you're sleeping says a lot about bringing you back to earth..smile...xo

Hold on! You're on the mend with a doc in toe! Asking for help is a great sign. You're almost there!
