Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
They are usually non Denominational, but still are pretty open minded .
The are Kiwanis clubs, rotary clubs, Y's, community centers, banquet room in a diner!
I got 50 NO"S, and its not because anyone thought I was less than or demonic! It was just NO - you just keep ASKING!
It was NOT easy finding a free room in 2012, and people have the RIGHT to say NO....
It is hard work to start and do anything, in our lives - You need to do this for you, but thinking its easy, and churches owe us - is what bothers me!
Sorry if I come off hard, but it was not easy for me to find a location... But I found a great one, and its mine now - the meeting is slowly growing.
I have scholarships for training and travel, being involved with NAMI and DBSA.... win win - but its not easy

Locally, I don't have a bipolar meeting place that is within 60 miles or so.

To think I thought I was in a stuffy old Baptist Church. I guess we are quite progressive. Mind you, it is going to take 6 months to jump through all the hoops.
I know a woman in BC does it out of the Alliance Church. I hope you find a good space, and boo! to all those churches who did not reach out to you. We have AA and NA, so why not bipolar and depression, is what I say!
The closest I can go to is about 30 miles away, There is not a DBSA meeting there, and I am not sure on a regular Bipolar group either. Maybe I should do some checking. But then not sure that I can afford.
