Hi,
Since being bipolar I have had a bad problem about being around other people. I tend to hide from family members and friends. I used to be a little socialite and loved being around people, but now it's right the opposite. I was curious if there is a term for not being able to connect with people well. I think autistic children have this problem as well.
Thank You

Hey All...I hope that you have a lovely, peaceful beginning of your weekI have a bunch of chores that need doing but may put them off til tomorrow and just hang out with my landlord/roomie todayWhat about you?...Anything special going on?Have a great day and take good care of you!!..Xo

My mind goes blank , I don't feel worthy enough being around others , not feeling good enough and that no one likes me so I hide away and isolate .When episodic .
Then it can all change and I feel good again and socialize .
I call them episodes for me , but the term IDK
Yep, avoidance, like X says.
I only have it when I'm around people (a) when I'm moody or depressed; or (b) when I'm around people I feel have expectations of me I can't meet; Oh, and then there are a few people I simply don't Like.
I tend to 'overclassify', because I am 'drawn in' by the intricacies of the brain and how it works. Which keeps me away from people because they are freaked out.
I'd add more but I'm drawing a blank.
*sigh* Sorry about that one. :/
Do you have trouble going out into open spaces?... Agoraphobia maybe?
It's just interacting with people and establishing a connection with them. I don't feel the normal human interaction it feels unnatural and therefor I don't want to be around people start relationships etc..
Now I find myself almost isolating myself from my family...
can go out & talk to total strangers or crowds but neighbors, family & stuff - no way
I think when we isolate things become worse... I also disassociate
