People tell me I'm lazy.
Maybe I am just lazy. But this is so intense I'm wondering if it has something to do with my mental illness. I can't get off the couch to do anything, even when I'm manic. I get this surge of "Oh I should ____" do laundry, clean, paint, draw, browse the internet.... and as soon as I start to do it or consider doing it all of a sudden I get the opposite feeling and I shut down. Its an overwelming sense of anxiety and weight on my body and I feel like I'm being forced to do it. so I don't do it. I don't do anything. I sit here and watch tv and feel very restless and bored.
Wtf is wrong with me? Am I just lazy af?

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I also think that just about everyone discounts just how much WORK, moving from square 1 to square 2 really is.
If you've got a doctor or you're on medication it's definitely something to talk to them about it. Sometimes side effects of medications can do tricky things to different people...just saying, no point in driving yourself nuts, if there's an easy answer.
Beyond that, all I can say is "I get it." It's just a lot harder than people get.
Advice...push yourself to do something everyday. Set your alarm clock, give yourself a deadline. Maybe get a wall calendar and put goals on it where you can see them (and only you...if you do this, it's your tool for you, not someone else's tool for making you feel 'less than'.)
If you smoke/drink lots of caffeine, you might also try cutting back for a few days and see if that helps...maybe. (Don't feel pressured to do/try any of my ideas...life isn't a one-sized fits all...personally I'd find it hard to give up coffee...although I have cut back a few times.)
Good luck, Patti
On days where I have an apt. I can get up and go. On days I've not to go from my house, this is my downfall. One change I'm trying to make a habit of is to put my cloths out before bed, head to toe, as soon as my feet hit the floor I get dressed ''before anything'' otherwise I'm setting my day as a 'nothing in pj's'...best to you...I get it :)
But then, "Lazy" would be the more traditional word for ^it^. A name is *just* a name? Whatever. . .
Hope you can get yourself up to taste a bit of life today, Noah.
I would break things down into what small thing you can push yourself to do today.... Maybe clean the bathroom sink or do some dishes and give yourself a pat on the back or do something nice for yourself for your success
Baby steps are steps in the right direction..... Big hug......xo
