Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I am less loving and fogiving when depressed, tend to be angrier.
Makes it hard to know what love is, or who it is you truly love. Years ago, way back in the way back, I had a very close relationship with two different men over a two and a half period of time, saw them almost every day, one sexual relationships (Later amrried him) the other plantonic (we were attracted to each other very much.) It did become sexual with him for a short time right before we both left college, then went our seperate ways. It was then that I knew.
I finally slept with the other one (was platonic), and realized too late that he was the one I truly loved. I have to say it was a romantic evening, experience. He is the very sort of man I could love and be attracted to.
I'm wondering now to what extent it screwed my life up and how things would have gone if I had chosen him. I know it would have been much better. He said all along it should have been the two of us that got together. I know I made the wrong choice. Still dealing with it. Especially now that I'm writing the memoir, and I am having to sort through these memories and feelings. Not so easy!!!
It's hard as hell being BP.
It's hard to know your own mind and heart with mania and depression ruling your life.
It has ruled my life what could be more horrible! I hate it.
It's a very very bitter feeling!!!!
I've stopped eating (not entirely but enough to raise eyebrows from shrinks and family doctor and I've heard a few hospital threats and feeding tube threats.) They think it's just mood stuff, but between you and me fellow bipolars there's a whole lot of psychology here, too.
I am deep down mad that the "choices, non-choices thanks to BP, I've made" have COST ME SO DEAR!
It's cost me so dear, I am so mad, I can't eat! Seriously!
HAS ANYONE ELSE HERE FELT THIS WAY??!! Please tell me how you dealth with it.
Sorry, love is a real touchy subject for me at the moment especially writing the book! Intense emotions. An avalanche of memories.
It's not the bad memories that are getting to me the most writing this thing. I surely thought that would be the case. It's the good memories that are blowing me out of the water.
I've had a tough go with this issue. No joke.
Love,
Eve
I think love is willing to give of yourself for the other person.
I think that one fits with how I view "loving someone".
I love my boyfriend. I think he loves me, too, but he told me he will not say it until he is ready to get married to me. He thinks I will push him to get married if I know he loves me.
Given my history with men, he is right. But, I would still like for him to say it. He definitely shows it through his actions. He is always doing nice things for me, calls me a lot, e-mails me a lot, is kind to me, is patient with me, likes to be with me and tells me so, etc.
Peace, LOVE, and joy,
Wendy
