I may be taking college algebra all over again and I have some reserves about taking it. BECAUSE the last time I took it the college professor was never there during her office hours. I immediately called her up on the fact that I was a single mom and I don't have the time to pay sitters to sit around and wait for no one to show up during office hours. She promptly told me she didn't have the time to sit in her office all day long wating for people to show up. How rude! She should thank god that no one was in the hallway but her and I when she said that. I HATE THAT BITCH! Barbara Pedersen had the nerve to fail me but never show up when I needed help. I am so pissed right now! I could use some hugs.....

I'm a slow learner. I am going to be taking your algebra class this fall. And let me introduce myself. I am Sherry Troutman. I have manic depression. I took Mrs. Pedersen's algebra class way back in the spring or fall of 01 or something like that. And she was never there during her office hours. I then called her up on the fact that I showed up to get help and she wasn't around and she promptly replied that she never has the time to sit in her office all day waiting for people to show up. Now, I have my reserves from taking algebra
again because I was so poorly treated the last time. Also when I had asked her to slow dowm she replied.....If I slowed down for all the students who had asked me that then I wouldn't have the time to be up here teaching all the time. Now I failed her class because A) she wasn't in during her office hours when she promised, and B) I couldn't copy the notes as fast as she wrote them down. If I come in for extra help will you be willing to go the extra mile for me and help me if I have any questions at all? Thanks in advance. Please email me back soon.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...

Alos, when I was in college, I taped my classes so I could take notes at home from the audio. Ask permission first, but it is one way not to slow down the class and complicate things for the others. There should also be tutoring available for you through the school with your disabilities.
I would say that you were at a disadvantage taking algebra prior to this class due to several reasons.. 1) learn at a different pace 2) your hours and the teachers conflicted and you were unable to receive additional help due to your schedules... 3) you have a disease that has limitations and contributes to difficulty...
Ask him what would the school be able to do to improve your chances of success? are their any teachers that have enough time to provide additional help after class or during the day (there may be another teacher that tutors math) ? is there peer tutoring? or tutoring in any form? is it possible for teachers to provide copies of their notes to those that find it hard to copy them down... posting them on their website perhaps since some teachers have this option? or taping like Shelly suggested also a good plan... discuss in person your health and ask them is there any modification to the program possible to help you given your limitations?
I believe the school system should be able to give you the tools so you can succeed this time... show them you are willing to do your part and what can they offer to help you achieve your goal.... ((hugs)) polar
