went to a new lawyer today

As you know I lost my children on January 24th because my house was too messy. Families SA took them and gave them to their father. 7 Kids with bipolar was just too hard for me though I tried my best. I went to a new lawyer today and she 'got it', she acknowledged that 7 kids with a mental illness would be hard and that things just got on top of me. My ex (their father) is only granting me 2hrs access a week on sundays. This new lawyer is going to go for more which will be great. I will no doubt have to have supervised visits for a while but that should be ok then we can go to court and hopefully I will get more.

Just had to share, feeling better now than I have in weeks.

I'm glad you DID share! SEVEN KIDS!!! OMG I wouldn't know what to do with seven of 'em. I've got one and that's enough. I hope your new lawyer gets you more and better visitation time. You're in my hopes and thoughts. Good luck!

Good for you!!!!! I hope it works out exactly the way you want!!!!

When you first posted about your situation, I kind of 'got' why they didn't want the kids living in what I assumed to be a really bad and possibly unsafe mess.
But what you were granted instead was outrageous!!!!! (And much worse for the kids, if you ask me!!!)
If that was their only gripe, they could have at least given you much more generous visitations, just stipulating that the place be checked out ahead of time or demand that it take place somewhere else.

That's great news that you found an lawyer that understands mental illness and can work with you and the courts for the sake of the kids.
Hopefully you will be able to spend more time with them soon.

I know how it feels to have your children taken from you, I lost my children a number of years back, so your not alone.

I'm so glad you have someone on your side....It would be great if there father could understand that children need both parents in their lives who put their needs first...
He's not being reasonable....I hope you get to spend more time with your kids soon....xo

Can the lawyer find you some resources, or assistance to put the house in order?

I imagine your missing them so much, and so overwhelmed - my heart goes out to you, and you and yours are in my prayers!

Do you have help or a plan, to fix the house up? Get it ready, so when you win the fight, there will be nothing left to say - if your ready!!!!!

***I helped a friend one time, she was more than messy - more a hoarder, not like TV, but bad enough to lose the kids - I helped her for months, and when done - my church came and painted, and did repairs - also threw a welcome home party!!!!

There is help - lots or organizations want to help mothers, disadvantage mothers, get there kids back!!!! Don't give up! Just another problems to go through, solve, and get over!!!!!
