Weight gain on seroquel and pristiq?

I've been on seroquel and pristiq for a few years now. I was wondering if anyone else on either of these medications is having trouble loosing weight.

if I stick to 1500ish calories a day and exorcise, I slowly lose weight, but 1500 calories a day leaves me feeling extremely hungry (I'm 6'3''). I was able to do it for a few months about a year ago, but now I just can't do it. the urge to eat is beyond the limits of my self control. I had an easier time quiting smoking.

Seraquil made me gain so much weight years ago. I had to change meds. It also made me more depressed.

Yes, the Seroquel did the same to me. I was doing a lot of "sleep eating". Would get up the next morning and find the evidence. I was becoming pre-diabetic and had to change meds. Loved my Seroquel and still miss it, though. Just be sure to work with your doctor if you have to stop taking either med. Ask them to taper you - suddenly stopping (unless in an emergency situation) doesn't always turn out too well.

Was once prescribed a real small dose of Seroquel and got really really wiped out! Developed such bad vertigo I couldn't even stand up. A larger dose might have put me in the ER.

Wasn't on it long enough to gain weight. But in my experience ANY anti-psychotic drug messes with weight. Sometimes it's an increase in appetite, but other times it's a real METABOLISM CHANGE, especially the tendency to give you diabetes.

I've been on Zyprexa and now am pre-diabetic.

Yes Seroquel has been a weight nemesis for many of us unfortunately....sigh.... Good for you sticking to a program!....x

Yes...ugh. The Seroquel struggle is real. I lost some weight due to surgery and then Pilates-based physical therapy, but I'll never be able to lose anymore. That's annoying.

Seroquel made me gain 50 lbs. I still carry it around even though I stopped taking it a few years ago.

I started gaining weight on the Seroquel as well and I hadn't even been on it a month yet. It also made me feel like a zombie the next day and the feeling never went away! I had the same reaction with Remeron as well. I hope you are able to find something that doesn't cause weight gain and works well for you! I am still trying to find something. Hugs GB

So many meds make weight loss almost impossible.
It's a matter of your metabolisim changing, most of the time it doesn't even involve your calorie intake
