Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Having said that, if I had any I would be stoned every day, all day!!!!!!
You and my son are about the same age. He is unmedicated and in denial, and he smokes pot to deal with his rage issues.
I've only got two problems with it: It's still illegal, and that's an issue, so apparently, you're may get easy-to-buy CRAP out there, you know?
Second problem I have, is that Long-term, I see it making people Stupid. But so do some prescription drugs....
So, *hugs*, and keep up with self-awareness. Always.
It should have been legalized for medicinal reasons a long time ago.. It makes no sense to me that it hasn't been.. a great analgesic..x
illegal and makes some/alot of people "stupid".......
I'm typically a "if it works for ya, go for it, kinda person", but is it worth risking going to jail for??
The trick to using cannabis as a mood stabilizer is to use as little as possible. A vaporizer is perfect for this. A joint or bowl will tend to get smoked up and all one needs is a hit or two to get the desired effects.
Those people that falsely think that cannabis make one stupid are simply talking from a place of ignorance. I could make the same statement about alcohol but it would be just as wrong.
ABUSING any drug will have negative effects.
Being ignorant is not a bad thing.
I'm ignorant on many subjects, and will freely admit it.
I can assure you that those people that claim that cannabis 'makes one stupid' are IGNORANT of using cannabis as a medicine. They only know about cannabis as an intoxicant.
Until they have used it MEDICALLY and not recreationally then they will remain ignorant of its medicinal uses.
because it doesn't destroy the brain like most of the medication that we have to take to control all of are mood plus hair loss is not great either so in my opinion it better for and memory wise were loosing it one way or and other and i would like to take less pills everyday witch is better for in the long run
And your proof of that? Which medications are you talking about?
There seems to be a general lack of agreement on this subject that has come up several times. What cannot be denied is that some members have found it personally useful, and others have found it to be unhelpful.
I've not had much luck finding proper academic studies other than this one
"Individuals who use marijuana may develop psychosis nearly 3 years earlier than people who do not indulge in cannabis use, according to a new study to appear in the June print issue of the Archives of General Psychiatry. Another new study notes that regular marijuana use may also trigger bipolar disorder in vulnerable individuals. "
