You can still get them tied don't believe all that bullshit your doctor will try to tell you. I had mine tied at 23 and I don't regret it. I'm now 32. If I hadn't done it back then who knows how many babies I would have popped out for lack of keeping it in my pants.
I knew what I was doing.
I simply insisted my "male" doctor tie them. When he gave me a hard time I yelled. "stop patronizing me! If I was a man getting a vasectomy this would even be a conversation we'd be having! I don't appreciate this sexist bullshit! If you don't do it I will find some one who will!"
They made me watch some videos and then gave me the tubal ligation.
Funny but non of the female nurses seemed concerned that I didn't know what I wanted! They all supported my decision.
Some times I think maybe I could have had another baby but ultimately I don't regret having it done. I know I made the right choices as I can barely handle life with two kids and a third one would have stressed me into the mental ward even further.
Plus I'm really fertile and for what ever reason birth control pills and I had issues. I definitely would have popped out 4 or more kids by now if I hadn't had it done. I know some will say abstinence but that isn't an option for me I love sex too much for one thing and with a cheating boyfriend abstinence just wasn't an option. Birth control pills require insurance which I did not have a steady supply of. And most of all I knew for a fact that I did not want more kids. I already had two a boy and a girl it was perfect for me.
So ladies! If you want your tubes tied but they are blowing you some bullshit you blow it right back to them and get what you know you want.

I'm feeling down,, and got alot on my mind right now. I got grief going on, on top my depression and anxiety and now I got to worry about somewhere to live since I can't afford living here since my mom passed. So many bad things have happened since my mom passed. One thing after another it seems. Yesterday our fence fell from a storm that hit, had to call someone to prop it up. Thank...
after all we're just woman here to serve n be used by them. even now that's how they think.
did u c where nut is trying to make into law. where it so that woman are forced to breast feed. and hospital won't be allowed to offer baby formal. Now the nut says that a woman is to be made to breast feed for frist 2 mo's of baby life. I guess baby form-lur companys jumped all over him. Regarding companys protest, it has nothing to do w woman rights but all about money.
He's the same nut that insist on outlawing lrg soda's ( sugar ) drinks.
he wants it to be against the law to sale n serve over certain amount of oz's of soft drinks.Granted in fines, that would create income for his state.
Even now people are so dam clueless about wad law. it is a woman right to have rights - control over her own body and not men.
According to my Mother. at age 3. I told her that I didn't want to have baby. same as age 9 & 17...
I selected a man to marry, who already had children & who would not demand that I have his baby, being that he already had child/children. It worked out for me.
I choise not to do so.I have no regrets. Male Dr's throughout my life insisted that I do so.sad part is. so did a few woman who worked in medical field. I didn't nor do I need children to be a whole person.
I'm a god Mother and an aunt to 3 relatives & many non related adults. who I watched grow up & was blessed w being able to interact in their childhood.
My family at beast have no more than 2 children w/in their life.
my brother has 1 daughter. she has 1 child. My sister has 2 children.
Girl n boy. the girl insist that she is going to have his-to - rect-o my because she refuses to have child/children.
My sister son has already had his tube tied. he still in high school.
Even now we need to band together to have legal rights to our own body's.
Absolutely you posted a great post.
I'm male I never had children but been on high procrastination street for ages about getting the snip myself.
I couldnt live with knowing I gave up a chance to make another beautiful child. What if the next egg in line was the Albert Einstein gene!
Im sure my sanity would be greatly tested..... and Id be cursing myself when I start showing... and gaining... and bloating. and stretchmarking... and swelling my feet up and my face.....
But.... I honestly wouldnt know love if I didnt have babies.
I got patience enough for one more.. I think.... JUST NOT RIGHT NOW.
But its true.... dont listen to them docs.... if you want it done.... you should be able to get it done.
And sometimes its not about age... if you have already had a child... or even a boy and a girl.. they are all for it.
Ironically they told me when they tied the tube but refused the hysterectomy that if I was to get pregnant again it could quite possibly kill me
The reason a hysterectomy is not done as a method of birth control is because your ovaries plays a vital part in hormone regulation. Not only this but the sling they replace your uterus with some times slips and causes pain and presses on the bladder. And other medical complications can arise because of a hysterectomy. So with out a real medical reason to do it I agree with the doctors on that one.
As far as tubes being tied I guess it depends on the doctor. I had one boy and one girl and it made no difference I was too young? Of course this was coming from a doctor with many children.
I got all kinds of arguments like
what if I meet a young hot guy who wants children?
what if one of my children dies?
what if I change my mind?
I agree it is meant as a permanent solution but why are women forced to think about it when men aren't? That seems a bit sexist. When a man says he doesn't want children no one questions it but when a woman says it, she needs time to think about it? It is a big decision I agree but don't patronize me please I hate that.
Any how being assertive is what works most times. I just wanted women to know that they can get it done even with a stubborn doctor. It's your body not your doctors. The choice should ultimately be yours. That was the point I was trying to make.
I want to get pregnant in the next year, however, and am kind of glad they wouldn't do it for me in my 20's. Just sayin'.
I had a lot of female issues, but I didn't want a hysterectomy. If I had listened to one doc, I wouldn't have my daughter. Menopause was horrid, but I found a great old Chinese doc, who let me go on progesterone instead of estrogen, which triggered bipolar. He told me I didn't need a hysterectomy and I would be just fine when I got the bleeding under control. Never regretted it . One less surgery for this battered body.
But I think it should be a personal choice - either because you don't want children, any more children or health reasons. I chose not to, but no one should be forced to have children because a doc refused to give them the tubal they wanted.
