Does anyone know about vistaril my doctor just put me on it

seems it's used of label for anxiety, it's an anti-histamine rather than a benzo,

seems to have a long list of drug interactions though

Well, if antihistamines have a sedating effect on you, it will work fine. I was given vistoril in the hospital and it worked, but instead of shelling out for the prescription, I pop 2 or 3 benadryl from time to time. Works best for me when I wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep because my brain is racing! People are married to their benzos, don't think that's your only option for anti-anxiety meds.

I've been given Vistaril for years now and it doesn't really work for me, I'm supposed to take two a day 50mg each, but since they don't work I skip taking them often, Now I have a huge surplus, Sometimes I take 6-7 to try to help me sleep but they don't really do that either, Hope you have better luck with them,

If this tells you anything one night I was really pissed and took 2 abilifys and 4 benadryls I was still pissed after that and benadryl sometimes takes awhile for me like longer than normal sometimes up to 2 hours before I sleep

I also take lamictal and celexa I used to be on abilify and me and my dad got into it and I was severely pissed

    I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car.     Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner.  I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings.  But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!
