Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
If he has a good doctor he or she should be able to drop in to see how he's going.
Don't tell him that you called his doctor. You'll just get it in the neck.
There is no talking to him when he is in this state.
Best of luck.

BP'ers are known to discontinue thier meds but this is not an excuse for thier ugly - mean behavior which they are well aware of and can control. However w/in difrent phases of BP - a person may not be able to prevent outburst of ugliness.
Self abuse comes in many forms and not obtaining medical care and/or refuseing to take physco meds is not only self abuse but a way to abuse others but is not an excuse to abuse.
I care about my freinds and neighbours etc... so I have daily service of in home health care service.
The person who self abuseing may also benifit from a mood stablizer in addition to reg physco med.
Your not his/her doc so depart abuseive enviroment or person will suck your life dry just like a vaccumm.
I recommend that you remove the negitive person from your daily enviroment. Your not a therapest nor pdoc right.
Please do not allow anyone to abuse you.
You may also wish to join emotional and physical support group on DS.
maybe we can get 1 of girls to repost signs of abuse, as in list of abuse and effects of abuse.
Abuse & relentless stress can alter our brain to point we too will require physch meds for the rest of our lives.
being around a person who is abuseive and who refuses to take thier medication can have such effect on your own mental health.
leave the person to the professional who are trained to deal w him/her at any point - on any level.
If the person choise to do as you say then let him/her crash - there is safty net already in place to scoop up and care for such destructive people.
Keep us posted,k
Yep his Doc can do this.
If he is a threat to his self and/or others the courts can admit him into hospital for everyone safety & peace of mind.
Again I surgest that you take care of yourself by removeing an abuser out of your daily enviroment. Your not his/her pdoc, right!
Let him crash. there a safety net already in place for people like him in his state of mind.
It's only going to get worst.
Protect yourself and take care of yourself.
If he is self abuseive and is or will become a threat to his self and/or others you or his Dr can get the courts to get him into a hospital where they can evalurate him and restart his meds and his Dr can visit him while he's in the hospital.
Please dont wait to contact his Dr after he starts to have black out moments.
Dont tell him what you are doing or might do etc... ---he's a physch patient w/o meds.
Again take care of your over all well being and this includes your own mental well being.
If the pdoc will not get involved, leave him. Don't say a word just leave and hide from him. Try to get a protective order if you are afraid of him coming to your work.
My ex had BP and would get REALLY abusive whenever I would suggest (because she was being somewhat little abusive) that she hadn't taken her meds. Most of the time it turned out that she had forgotten, but it was a real catch 22 situation. With luck he will realize what a complete sh*t he is being. I can sympathize with someone who is mentally ill, but not to the point that they can abuse me whenever they feel like it.
Would you stand out in the street during a hurricane? Not I. Either they go, or I do, at least until the storm has passed.
Get the hell out of Dodge.
Be safe.
