Wow. So I ended up in the ER. With a huge self inflicted gash on my left forearm that just barely avoided serious hand surgery. Of course, I was admitted to the psych unit. Spent three days. My boyfriend called and visited and brought clothes, etc. Tuesday was my appointment with my psychiatrist, the one my boyfriend was going to go with me. I was released early enough that day to still make it. The pdoc in the hospital didn’t change my medication at all, but my outpatient pdoc did. Added Buspar because of the horrible anxiety. I have an appointment with a therapist now where I can explore my issues. My boyfriend was a saint through the whole ordeal. And at the appointment, he was considerate of my sensitivities and still honest with my doctor. I’m definitely marrying this one!  Anyway, figured I’d give an update to all you kind people here. Tomorrow to get stitches out!

Ditto sorry to hear sometimes these events signal a new chapter. I'm going to hope so and hope that the anxiety monster can be tamed.

So sorry you for all you went through! I hope you feel safe now and I'm glad you have your boyfriend for support and a good pdoc. Your boyfriend sounds like a keeper. I don't know what I'd do without my husband and family for support. ((((Hugs))))

Glad you're safe. Glad you and your BF made it to the Pdoc appt and you got some meds changed up. I hope starting to work with a Therapist will help you sort things out so things can settle down.

So sorry you went through that and I'm so sorry you had to be in the mindspace you had to of been in when that happened.

It's great you had such amazing support from your boyfriend and I send you gentle hugs as well.

I'm so sorry to hear symptoms got so bad that you ended up in the hospital Miamichic! However, I'm glad that you did end up in the right place and that you were still able to see your pdoc with your boyfriend. Good to know that you are on the right track again with the support of your boyfriend despite the detour! Sending lots of love and positive healing energy your way!!! <3 --Jess

Have you ever been taught any redirecting or coping skills for the self harm? I'm a cutter, I don't do it consciously much anymore, it's generally trauma induced, but i've done it since I was 12, 37 years.

    I've been on high dose prednisone for pneumonia, and now I am slowly weaning. But lots of symptoms I don't like having, plus overeating has put at least 10 lbs on me. The food is "loud" as the GLP-1 users refer to it.Also pressured speech. Which comes out in my posts. Sorry I posted so much. I just need an outlet for my agitated and irritable brain.
