Unsupportive spouse

I was just fired from my job and it has my bipolar symptoms in a swirl. My spouse of 12 years is growing angrier and angrier that I can't snap out of it.

I just asked him to take me to the hospital, because I can get the care I need there and he flipped out storming around the house and throwing things.

He made sure to tell me no one in his family has these problems.

Both of my parents are dead and I live out of state from my brother. I feel so helpless, depressed and crazy.

Oh my God what have I done being with someone like this for so long. Please pray I have the strength to take myself to the hospital.

I'm on the computer shaking like a leaf uncontrollably and crying. He is sitting two feet away with a miserable look on his face flipping through the channels.

Big hug for you sd... If you need to please call for a taxi or an ambulance... Don't drive if you can't safely

Perhaps when you're more stable you could ask your husband to come to a pdoc appt and ask you doctor to explain some of what bipolar is about... There's also a ton of info online if he'll read it... I hope you get some help soon....xo

Sorry to hear you're going through this. If I am dealing with unsupportive spouse/friend/family I try my hardest to identify people I CAN turn to for support. DS has been a good place for me. Do you have a therapist you can call? Go to the ER if you need to!

Hey sdqrri, I am sorry this is happening to you. You dont deserve to be treated like that because of something you cant conrtrol. I agree with Sun Cloud that him going to a pdoc appt with you would be good so that he could hopefully better understand what is going on. Hugs to you. Could you call your brother and vent to him?
