Once again a GP doctor has discriminated against me because of my Bipolar condition. I have pain issues that are clearly physical in nature since 2007. The pain is deep in my tissues and bone, shooting through my body in different areas at almost all times--- if under high pressure weather it is invariably worse. Yet somehow there is no merit in my concerns because i am being treated by a psychiatrist for Bipolar Disorder. Somehow anxiety and stress explain away my experience with this intensely painful state. Doctors question my ability to interpret my own bodily sensations! I've lived in this body for 45 years, i believe i know the difference between acute anxiety and deeply painful attacks. I'm not looking for narcotic remedies or pain management options--- i want to know WHY this is happening to me! It would ease my mind to know and to be treated with some decency and respect for my legitimate concerns. Too much to ask???

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
It absolutely infuriates me as well, the way that people with mental health conditions are treated differently both in society, and the medical treatment community at times in regards to being listened to, and respected. We are all just human beings after all, all equitable, who should all be regarded with the same treatment when it comes to health. Notice how there are still many intelligent, talented people with this condition? Yet there is still an unnecessary stigma, and I feel that certainly needs to change.
I'm really sorry that you had to experience that ignorance when it came to your health concerns. You didn't deserve for that to happen to you. I hope that you can find a specialist who will provide you with the health care solutions which you so rightfully deserve. Best.
