So I've recently learned that there are about two dozen different types of bipolar disorder and am curious on what type of bipolar disorder others on this board have.. (if you'd like to share that is) :)

I am Bipolar 1, manic with psychotic tendencies

I am thinking about just going back to "Manic Depressive." This bipolar business is so-o-o-o complicated.

Sometimes I go even further retro and just call myself a nut job.

bipolar 1 with psychosis. Stable although i still have some mild anxiety.

I will quote my psychiatrist.. "definitely bipolar" I don't know the type.. in the states its not so common to sub-categorize.. I would think with the amount of dilutions and hallucinations im a 1.. but with the amount of seeming depression I'd make me a 2..could all just be a bad dream I will wake up from eventually

My original diagnosis was "manic depressive". I'll admit to BPI and it seems odd to me to specify psychosis. After all, you're manic, you're psychotic. There's no need to get cute about it. My psychosis was nicely controlled with anti-psychotics and lithium in 1979.

I am BP1 tho actually unipolar on the manic side of it which means no depression just mania 24/7365

BP I ALWAYS manifests with manic , and psychotic episodes..it's the very definition of BP I, as opposed to BP II..which has hypo-manic episodes , but with a predominance of depression.BP II is not characterized as having manic or psychotic episodes

I'm with arfie on this one, I prefer the terminology Manic Depressive...Bipolar sounds too "cleaned up".....it does not truly represent the full spectrum and pain of this disorder ....disease

I've had one pdoc say bpII and another say bpI so I'm going to clarify this with my current pdoc when I see him on Tuesday. I'm also with Baby Shelby, I'd like to see the menu. I know that my current episode is depressed, and I guess that would be one of the variations, but I'm interested in the full menu.

Didn't know until recently that I was BP1. Never knew there so many different BP's until my pdoc and I discussed it not long ago. I generally suffer from manic episodes and not so much depressive ones. Don't think I'm psychotic but then again I'm on a pill to control that.

I'm with some of the board, "just plain cuckoo sometimes."

    I did the dumbest thing today.  I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds.  I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym.  What a dummy!
