Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. My case worker takes me out into the community and helps me "socialize" - we go for tea (me) or coffee (her) and then maybe the dog park if the weather is agreeable. Aside from volunteering and doctor's appointments, I also haven't been out and about for years either.
You can do it! What sorts of games to the play at the game club? Anything you're really interested in?
The nerves feel like the ones I use to get when I had to public speak. Aaaarg. Sometimes they would get so bad I would get tunnel vision, hyperventilate, and my voice would squeak. LOL. Deep breaths. Deep breaths.
Socialization is important to mental health. It's rough I know but try having fun instead of focusing on socializing the rest should just come to you on it's own.
And remember to be your self.
