After the traveling version of the Vietnam memoral wall came through Detroit this past week, I began thinking of one of my life goals. Someday I would like to go to DC and visit the real wall.
I dont think there is any other piece of art in the history of man; pyramids castles, colliseums, buildings, paintings, anything that can touch a soul as eaisly and deeply as that wall of stone. The history of it and the people sacrificed for it may just be fresh in our minds, but I think the real beauty is in its simplicity, Just a wall.
Maybe one work of art, a picture of it... the businessman leaning against the wall with his hand touching the images of his fallen soilders in the reflection.
Just feeling a little meloncolly today from a summer of stress I guess, so I thought I would share.

What memorial touched me the most though was going to Hiroshima and seeing the memorial for The Girl Of A Thousand Cranes. You really open your eyes to the horrific events that happened in the hands of our govt on innocent civilians.. (they should've targeted the actual military) not to start a debate or anything - just saying...
I went to Viet Nam a few years ago & an american on DS attacked me about it! lol. I was like my grandfather was in the Vietnam War...did some of your relatives die there or something. Answer was no, they were just stupid. Ahem.
That is really cool, nobody - I haven't been to the memorial, but hope to make it there. I know how melancholy memorials can make a person. There is a beautiful holocaust memorial in Miami that broke my heart.
