I’m really struggling with something right now. My sister and I did not speak for over two months because we had an argument on the day that my dad had surgery to remove his lung. She was at the hospital with him, and I was stuck here with no way to get five hours away to be there. I know she was having a hard time that day, but so was I. All I did was try to talk to her on the phone and she got really nasty with me. And we both said some things that we should enough and after that she blocked me for over two months. I finally decided to try and mend the fence. Over a month ago, I sent her a card telling her that I loved her and that I was sorry. She never even tried to tell me she was sorry. So one day I tried to text her, and she had Finally unblocked me. So I ended up talking to her on the phone last week. We had a nice conversation. I told her what had been going on with me, I asked about my niece. I asked how her husband was doing because he’s been having some health issues. So tonight I texted her to ask her how her husband‘s doctor appointment went today. She starts blasting me over text about how all I did was talk about myself when I called her the other day and how I didn’t ask about her. And she said “And the whole time you talk to me that night, you never even said you were sorry”. I reminded her about the card, and also reminded her about the fact that I’ve been trying to speak to her for over two months and she wouldn’t talk to me. So in the past, all I ever did was listen to her talk about her life. So now I feel like she’s upset with me because I didn’t grocel and beg for her forgiveness. And she’s also upset because she didn’t get to take center stage. I’m kind of wondering if it might be better for me to not speak to her anymore at all. Nothing seems to be good enough for her. She never told me she was sorry. And we both said things that we shouldn’t have. But she’ll never admit to it. I have enough stress in my life right now trying to go off from two Heavy duty psych meds. I really don’t think that this is the time for me to be dealing with the BS. Any suggestions from anybody out there? Should I just block her and be done with her or what? I just don’t know what to do

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Perhaps since you know she can be a bit pissy, don't call or text when you're not in a good place. Or just send a simple "hi, hope your well." If you do text and she starts going off, just delete and ignore it and don't respond. You have the power to control what you read, what you keep and stress over and what you delete and let go....also what you respond to.
You can always be the bigger person, without having to block her. Just delete her crap and don't respond to it. (yeah I know easier said than done Kat!) Chose a joyful attitude for yourself, know that you're definitely worth the joy you choose, and consider it personal growth to not let her ridiculous words have power over you.
Hang in there and take care.

I sent a Happy New Year card and have sent small apologies to him and his wife but it feels degrading when I pour out my love and apologies to them and they dont even answer.
My other sister right below me we used to be close but she has become toxic. She is so filled with hate and negativity that I no longer enjoy being around her as much. I still call and text her but I have to keep enough distance that her toxicity doesn’t rub off on me. It’s a sad situation.
So yes, pick your battles and sometimes distance is necessary.
Out of my 5, 1 is dead, 1 is a crackhead, and the other 3 are batshit crazy.....ummm so I don't talk to any of them.
yeah. we're tight like that.
