Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I just met with my course coordinator to let him know I'm pregnant and find out if there's anything I need to do to prep for next semester, His response floored me. He flat out told me to withdraw for the year- just go straight to the dean's office and start the leave of absence process. I nicely informed him I hadn't considered taking the year off because that's not what I want. After pointing out how unfair it'll be to him to have to deal with my condition and making allowances for me because of it he decided to talk to a female colleague who told him as long as I have good familial support I should be fine because she's had other students in my position. One girl delivered over the weekend and was back on Monday. So he told me it's my decision but I should not expect to get any special treatment and I should probably speak to the female lecturer if anything should come up because he'll just remind me that he told me to leave. For some reason they both pointed out that I need to be prepared to deal with my classmates talking and staring and all that shit. I was not expecting that. We're all adults, this is not high school. Why would they make fun of me or be mean cos I'm pregnant? I informed him that I'm used to negative attention but now I'm wondering if I should stay or go. Now I'm even more scared of next year. I'm dropping everything but school but will that be enough? What's gonna happen when I can't make classes and my lecturer decides not to be lenient? Or if I'm unable to make a presentation? I'm almost certain if I take the year off I won't ever go back but now i'm really torn. My baby is due November 1st and the semester ends in December. That means mum's gonna have to take the baby as soon as I give birth. I don't know what to do.

Hello everyone IAM back in the mental health unit at hospitalĀ I've been sectioned under the mental health act for my own safety my daughter as been taken into careĀ

I was like OK we'll see how things go when your own children have kids.
yes weighing pro's and con's seems like a good thing to do.
To add to Lil's responses to people saying something to you about being pregnant you can always make them feel like an ass and say "I'm not pregnant my child is 6 months old!!" "Did you just call me fat??"
You will not suffer in the long run.
