I dont know what to tell ya . your marriage needs work! Your meds arent the problem

but I can't orgasm......the only problems I am really having are weight issues and sex issues......if I get my manic back I could solve both of my issues easily.....

Why would going off your meds save your marriage? Having your meds might be WHAT has kept you stable this long!

Orgasm would most likely be your anti-depressent. Try changing that out.

Also- an orgasm does not sex make.

Um, I dont thing having dysphoric hypo mania and anxiety is stable sweetie, plus dysphoria can be aweful and you cant control anything that happens if you go off meds. You have been struggling with that off and on for a few months now. There are other meds out there you can take that dont have sexual side effects, talk to your doc.........

Stopping your bipolar disorder treatment will probably just ruin your marriage instead of save it.

Make some other changes in your life and in your marriage.

sex alone will not save a marriage - it can be a barometer of whether the relationship is working or not, but i don't think you need to look far to see this isn't working.

in fact, i remember a friend of mine a long while ago who got divorced - he said the sex was the ONLY thing working in the relationship.

I agree with all your statements. You being stable on meds are not the reason for problems in your marraige, and things would probably be worse off your meds. If you husband needs tweeking,its best to get him tweeked whlie you are stable. Maybe he is the reason for your lack of the big O. But if its side affect of certain med, I agree to try just to change that specific med out to another.

I think going off all my meds would be best. I can take some of my money and buy herbal supplements....for years I wasn't on meds and I had no idea I was Bipolar......I don't really need SSI I need to get my manic back and get a job and that will make everything better.

Why is it we always encourage meds and discourage going off meds.....is this a one sided board? Meds don't work for everybody and too good for some......My meds have taken my ZEAL for life away......I used to be so happy and content unmedicated until I had a psychotic episode......I am going to be fine......so my thread was about herbal supplements if you don't have any advice to give me then please don't.

not trying to be rude but everyone here knows the importance of meds and so do you. You just said yourself that you were happy and content until you had a psychotic episode. The key word is "until". Think about that

Princess, don't you also have schizophrenia? If so, regardless of the debate whether BP can be managed without meds, I am pretty sure nobody thinks schizophrenia can be usefully managed without meds.

Whenever you complain about your marriage on here, it's about things not relating to sex or orgasm, such as your husband's controlling nature. Maybe there are other steps in your marriage you could work on first, and *then* see if sex is still an issue?

I agree with you harriet. thats what imeant by it being very dangerous for her and her family if she went off meds. She has 2 very serious illnesses
