People can't see it so they don't count it as a disability.

I'm tired of being told that I'm "using the system" just because I appear ok on the outside. I'm rife with dysfunction and my insides can be emotional chaos.

The only people who understand mental illness as a disability are the mentally ill.

I think for me, at this point- the hardest thing is not being taken seriously about Anything anymore, since I'm on disability and my bipolar is "out there" for everyone to know. I have zero credibility even when I work to prove otherwise and it hurts.

I'm so sorry Door. I know the feeling well. I think most of us do.
Stand w/your head high...this illness is very misunderstood but it is nothing to be amashed of.

I think they know now it is a disability. There are so many people with it and that are on disability. This is just my view. Yes there are still so many people who like to discard us because of our disability so I think there is still a stigma but not as bad cause so many people have it. Don't feel bad everyone has something and everyone has a story. We are no different then anyone else it is just we need more care sometimes.
