Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I'm still in a depression phase. I feel really paranoid like something is following or watching me. It's like everyone can see inside my mind and see my mistakes. Then they judge me.
I know where this comes from. I was bullied all through school which carries a lot of judgement. My home life was difficult. My mom was an alcoholic and wanted things her way. Her and dad fought all the time. I became a people pleaser to keep the peace. I put people's needs ahead of mine. I didn't really take care of myself.
Now I'm trying to learn how to love myself. Something I haven't done for a very long time. Self care became the bare minimum. I wish I knew how much damage this was causing. I wanted help as teen but there wasn't much competent providers where I lived. Also, my parents wouldn't take me. I tried a couple times but I thought It was a luxury I couldn't afford. I wish someone could of told me where to get the help I needed.
It's so hard to heal from this since it's so piled up.

In terms of self-care, you need to get beyond the past. Each day you can do a little to help your life get better, start crafting goals, have a bucket list, work on appearance, see things in a positive way. If your parents argued and you became a people pleaser, then you understand yourself a little and things don't always need to be that way. You can speak up if the situation warrants. .
Last Saturday on the west coast we were treated to an almost full solar eclipse. I don't know if you could see it where you are located. Although I couldn't see the eclipse because it was cloudy I sure felt something had changed....
Depression usually tries to keep change of any kind at bay. It especially fails to recognize any change that you have completed that is good.
According to depression you have never done anything right in your whole life! (Not True and You Know It!)
First step in healing from depression is to tell it in as stern a voice as you can muster "Go Away and Stop Lying to Me!"
Jenn you are more than lovable! We sure think the world of you around here.
I'm sorry you are suffering...
*Wish I could send over and extra large purple Teddy Bear for you to lean against and get hugged...
