I know a lot of ppl Use music to help with both mania and depression. Don't get me wrong I like music and minored in it in college. For me it is TV that helps me with a reality check. I always love comedy and the sad movies. (not much a fan of horror).

I used to work from my car daily and when I was younger got to missing the sound of other human voices just talking so now I am a big news/talk radio fan. especially when I drive. But to relax at home too.

Anyone else prefer Television over music.

My Dad watches Desperate Housewives not because they're hot, but because he thinks they're outrageous or inept, which he finds funny! I personally can't watch TV or listening to music or read when I get so low because my attention span doesn't allow it... if I'm not too low music can sometimes help me snap out of it

yes when low tv is my life saver l hunt out the best films then channel hop, ad breaks drive me nuts though how many.....l can't believe its not butter - this cream will make you 20 yrs younger - you're a nobody without this trendy car - can l put up with!!

and l'm a dork too l love star trek they show them on bbc2 fridy nights its heaven a double episode yay

most times when i get low i cant concentrate on anything. no tv, no music, no book. but, for background noise it's always music. i watch some tv.

its not that i really prefer TV to music but i do watch tv more than listen to music. i always have to have it on in the background. i cant stand silence. whether im watching it or not, it always has to be on. tv is my friend!

I like music over television but sometimes a great movie can just drift you off into another world and that's pretty relaxing - as long as it's not some depressingly sad movie. And I loathe those sappy, chick flicks. I like action, horror, suspense, heavy drama, sci-fi and stupid, stupid comedies. Hey, does anyone remember Mystery Science Theatre 3000 - that was so funny!!

I've got a flat panel with DVD a TV on "all" the time. i sleep quite alot (ty Seroquel). When we turn the TV off at night, neither of us can go to sleep.

Just can't deal with the commercials that raise the noise ratio.....so much higher, it's impossible to sleep, w/o my cooling fan (white noise) and the flickering light of the TV.

T.V. or should I say my DVD's are my turn to when I'm really depressed, like now. My favorite is Extras with Ricky Gervais. Last night I caught his comedy special, he is so funny.

I enjoy the TV as well. A nice escape to focus on other lives and some fantasy
I enjoy documentarys, all kinds and some thrillers or mysteries
