as long as you practice good hygiene you should not be afraid. Plus, there are two different medicines, tamiflu being one, that have proven succesful in treating the H1N1 virus.

All the reports I've heard say that the cases in the US have been very mild... not even as bad as the regular flu.

I too am a bit concerned because I have autoimmune disorder and get hospitalized when I get the flu almost every year. However, you can find some comfort in the fact that if you catch it early, Tamiflu really does help. My kids got the flu one year, and tamiflu knocked it out immediately and they were only sick for a day and a half!

Even with my immune disorder, tamiflu helped me kick the flu when I took it. I just have trouble getting my insurance to pay for it.

Here is my advice:
If you son gets sick, take him to the doctor immediately.
Have your doctor pre-certify with the insurance that the tamiflu is medically necessary so the pharmacy won't have troubles. Explain you need this done ASAP! Don't wait for the pharmacy to fax the doctor...get him to do it while you are at the visit in person! Be strong!

I pray your son does not become ill.

I'm away from my kids at the moment, so I'm not there to be the overprotective Mother that i should be right now. i suppose that's why I'm so anxious.

They just said on the news a confirmed case in Nevada....the first one. But it's up in Reno and it's a 2 year old little girl. I will say a prayer for everyone and use plenty of bleach!

I am traveling by airplane today.
And I will be wearing a face mask.
I have hadn't sanitizer and and baby wipes for when I use the restroom. Cant afford to get sick. It was funny to see all the people on the plane yesterday with face masks on. It was like I was traveling in the middle east.
