Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I wish you luck in whatever your decision is.. Hugs
I would like to think if someone said something like Hanna shared w/ her fiance that I would take the person in my arms and hold them, maybe whisper, "I am terrified for you, for me, for our children," But again, what the hell do I know?
I'm just being totally honest here..........after all I've seen you post about him, I honestly think you can do better. You're a caring, smart, beautiful woman who deserves someone who will love you back whole-heartedly for WHO YOU ARE........Is he really the one?
(Hugs)
If you take a global view of your relationship during that time, has your bf been supportive of you?... and you of him?
I've been with this man for 3 1/2 years. He's seen me from my highest mania to my deepest, darkest depression. Suicidal even (although he didn't actually know that). He cares so much for me that he will call doctors just to find help for me and he does hold me in his arms when I'm down and tells me it will be alright.
I don't want to make him out to be a complete monster, b/c he's not. Obviously, I wouldn't even give lifetime together a thought if that were the case. The biggest problem is that he looks at the whole big picture but doesn't pay attention to the tiny details that make up that future. He doesn't look at the fact that I take things day by day b/c he's picturing how things "should" be 20 years from now.
I've never put it into that perspective before, and maybe I need to do that with him. I don't like how the conversation went down at all, but I will try talking to him again, however futile that may be.
