Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
You just needed some music. I agree with you . Peace
One wanted me to stop all my bipolar medications and drink "green juice" and pray to my higher power and I would be cured. This psychiatrist worked for the county mental health.
I had psychriatric practice change my doctor 4 times in one month. One doctor I saw through them was on the other side of the state and we had our appointment by webcam. He was great and gave me a good diagnoses and started treating it. 4 doctors later they gave me this unprofessional lady who wanted me to call her by her first name and said we would be fast friends. She told me my hallucinations were just anxiety and took me off my meds and sent me on my way. I ended up in the psych ward.
I had another that should have been an endocrinoligist because all he ever wanted to talk about was my diabetes and my diet and meds to treat it. He would constantly forget about the bipolar or refills and when he would try to end the appointment I would have to remind him about the meds.
I also had one that is in love with ECT. She tries to make all her patients have it. I told her no. My husband told her no. This is while I was in the psych ward. She talked to the hospital lawyer about making me have it in my best interest. I won't even get into the long reasons I won't have ECT, including what it does to you, the fact that the depression can come back in 6 months, or the fact that insurance doesn't cover it.
No there are some truelly wacked out doctors out there. Most of my problems is because I've always delt with county mental health everywhere I've lived. First because of no insurance and then because were I moved they were the only office in the area.
im gonna send her some flowers with a note saying "thank you for helping me almost hang myself and perscribing me enough ativan to effectively turn me into an addict....p.s high five on the fact that i had to be rushed to the er because your treatment was SOOOOO effective.
I guess i should send a teddy gram to the doctor who accused me of having munchausen syndrome when i kept on his ass telling him i thought my son was autistic...
because every five year old cant talk, smears his poop on the walls and spins for hours. That was a good year delay in getting my son the services he needed.
You my dear have not experienced the VIP treatment of incompetent doctors.....wait for it, i hope it never happens to you. but to those of us it did, it impacted our lives.
While I firmly believe in therapy along with seeing a pdoc,.....if it is not always possible, seeing a qualified pdoc who can help facilitate our care is imperative. It can be frustrating to be limited so we seek other avenues. Hopefully our "good" pdocs can guide us in a productive way both medically and financially.............
Next month, I will have NO health insurance for the FIRST time in my entire life...................It terrifies me to know where that leaves me.!!!!
The point I was making was not that there are no bad doctors. The point is that it is unfair to assume that a doctor is bad because they are looking out for the patient as well as themselves.
Call me names if you wish and act like children if need be. I will not loose sleep over a little taunting.
Okay let's call it what it is... you are not sorry. And number two, why should it matter, who are you to judge anyone person's experience and/or their opinions based on said experience?
Why are you so bothered??
Your thoughts are valid and appreciated but they are not the only view of the situation.
