Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

OK, so before you read this, don't get the wrong idea: I don't dwell on this, or sit and stew, but every now and then it just pops into my head. Here's what went on, and I'm wondering if something similar has happened to anyone else...
In high school, I had this close friend I'd had since 5th grade. She was (now I see why people were saying what they were) nasty. Nasty as in just...nasty. The kind of girl who thought she was pretty and let everyone know even though you're kind of thinking "you're delusional". And that's mean, but it was true. But of course, I'd always defend her and take her side.
She was very close to me. Came over to my house when I had sleep overs. I went to her house when she had sleep overs. You know, very close growing up. We were in band together and had our own little group, but loved everyone. Everything was cool.
Since we were so close, she saw the abuse at home. She saw me cry, she knew how bad things were. She knew I wanted to die and heard via another friend of ours that I spent a whole summer in bed. We would room together on band trips. She saw me take medication. She knew I wasn't "right". (At the time I had no official diagnosis. they just put me on antidepressants and let me go). When I got the diagnosis, I told her and one other girl. Trusted her. Told her not to tell anyone. She knew I was sick, she saw it.
Everything was cool all through high school. I got her a job at this place, I won't give out her name or where we worked. The job was pretty far away from where she was living, and I lived about at the half-way mark. So she'd drive to my house and I'd drive the rest of the way. Just shared the gas 50/50. Makes sense. We started out at work (the job I got her) and everything was cool.
Here's where shit went down:
One night, I was told by one of the managers that she had went on a smoke break with the manager who told me what she said out there, another manager (who I'd known via family friends since I was very young), and the area supervisor. She told them that I can't be trusted because I "faked bipolar disorder for attention". That is an evil thing to say about anyone. Fucking evil.
Of course I know the whole story because that one manager came to me, or rather called me into the office to talk about this. He said while they were still outside the other manager that I'd known forever said something along the lines (after she had went in) "Well this is news to me. And she wouldn't lie about that shit."
When everyone came back in, I got called into the office. One of the managers asked the questions "Do you trust her?" I said yes. Then he told me what she'd said. He asked me "do you have bipolar disorder? If you're going to be working here, I need to know all, if any medical problems". I felt my face get red and just said something along the lines of "that's too personal" or "I don't like talking about it" or "I told her not to tell"...something. I was too pissed to remember. That manager could see right through me, knew I wasn't some asshole faking something fucking serious for attention. (I actually fucking hate shitbags who do that).
After my shift ended, I left her ass there. I don't know how she got back to my place to get her car but I honestly didn't give a shit.
THAT BITCH GOT FIRED! For lying, for doing a shit job in general, for lying about a best friend so you know she REALLY couldn't be trusted. She showed her true colors. Bitch was a lying sack of SHIT
Just to clarify: that manager told me because 1-He NEEDED to know of any medical problems any employee had, and 2-The guy liked me and knew we were close, and thought I deserved to know. 3-He wanted to know if she was lying. (Of course, after talking to me, and that other manager on my side who I later found out had said "I could see it. Girl's been through a lot." or something). So he wasn't being nosey or trying to start shit. He needed to know these things.
So with all that being said, I'm still pissed off at that whore. (and she was pretty whorish. I don't have to stick up for her with fake "oh well you don't know her" bullshit).
Ever since then, I felt, in this weird way free, but also fucking pissed. And I think anyone would be. I WON, YA FUCKING LYING WHORE!!
Ever have something like this happen to you?
