Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Hi there, I'm newish. I came to this site many years ago, left, and now I'm back.
I've been in denial about having Bipolar for 6 or 7 years now. I research to find anything else it could be. Started and stopped my medicine, going on 3 times. I just started them again last week. I'm finding that they aren't working as well and I'm going to see a Dr. next week. Before going back on I was very irritable, depressed and having regular outbursts. I am slowing coming back to what "normal" might look like. It's nice to find a place where I can discuss with others who understand.

Some things we don't talk about, we breathe them... Some things cannot be explained, but rather experienced. Some of the most healing moments arise when given the memory, acknowledging the love. One cannot go back in time; we move forward, and we carry the love we shared. I've been feeling like I don't matter my wife the other day instead of telling me she was having a pain day when I went to have sex with her she tell me afterwards that she having pain day due to her fribromyalgia and making feel like shit afterward saying she has a list of things from past 9 years of thing for me to do and is always adding more and more to this list and talk...

I do recommend a good psychiatrist, one that you can work frequently with as at first its difficult to find that right cocktail of meds.
But there is relief

Experts are good to see.... I see that you don't want to be on any meds.... I imagine to some degree we all wish things were different and that we didn't need them
I don't think the psychiatrists just want to fill you with meds... They want to help you to control the disorder and meds are what works for that.... It's helping with our brain chemistry when it's 'outa wack'
If we do need them though they can sure make life a whole lot better.....
Big hug.... xo
Welcome back. We understand....
I went to my PCP yesterday and talked to him about my meds. He kept me on seroquel. Adding depakote and taking me off my antidepressant. I am already feeling woozy from the depakote. I hope this won't always be the case. I am trying at least and I feel like that's a good thing and a step in the right direction. I hope I can keep it up.
