I posted last night about the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA). I was so excited to have found the live support group. I had planned on even making my own chapter if there wasn't one close enough to here.
Then my fiance tells me he won't watch my kids so I can go to the meetings. He's jealous that I want to talk to people w/ BP about my ilness.
I told him it's a lot easier to talk to people who actually understand BP, and of course he got offended saying he "thinks he's got a good grasp on BP" when in fact he's just a saner and he doesn't get it at all.
What can I do? I really want to go to the meetings!

I know it's not easy, but I do agree with most everyone here that you need to do what is best for you. It's true that unless someone has BP they don't understand it and some people don't even try. My husband has stuck with me for years, but he doesn't understand BP and does not want to. He says people like "us" have no reason to be depressed and that we all "just need a good swift kick to straighten us out. He also does not want me talking to all of you on DS, but I do it anyway. Please find a way to go to your meetings--I think it will really help you. The support I have gotten here at DS in just the last 2 weeks has been more than I have gotten in years from the people around me. To be fair, I have put my husband through a lot. All I am saying is stick to your guns and get the help and support you need.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
